• Question: do you find teenagers are difficult to teach?

      Hi splatt,

      I haven’t had much experience in teaching teenagers, but I take people as I find them and I tend to get on with people of all ages. I am really happy to talk to teenagers, and I often find that they are highly creative, imaginative and idealistic, all qualities which we tend to lose as we get older. So it’s quite invigorating to talk to you – I expect to learn quite a bit from participating in I’m A Scientist.

      ( Warning….Here I go being a patronising old f**t) One of the great things about teenagers is also one of the worst things…they think they know it all. This can make for really interesting and fresh discussions, insights and ideas from people who haven’t become set in their ways..or…..
      I actually really enjoy working with pupils – my favourite groups are year 7 and 8 who still are able to think sciency things are really cool (like I do)

      It depends. Like any group it is difficult if they’re not interested in what you are talking about but it’s possible to find stuff that gets the interest of most groups if you try hard enough.
