Love it, love it, love it, love it, love it.

Though it drives me mad sometimes. The best bit is when your experiments work and you realise that your results have told you something new about the world.

The worst bit is when you work your guts out trying to write a grant proposal to ask for money to do some new research and the application is turned down. The trouble is that we have to compete with lots of other scientists who are also looking for money but there is only enough money to fund about 20% of applications. However brilliant my idea, I can’t investigate it without the money and that can be really, really frustrating!!

I LOVE science. I can’t think of anything else to study that is as interesting and challenging as science. There is something new to learn everyday and science is everywhere. I love it I do.
