Hey tara, unfortunately we have never been near enough to a black hole to chuck a camera in! I don’t know loads about this but I think the theory is that anything that goes into a black hole gets stretched out like spaghetti! They call this spaghettification (seriously)

      Quick answer is No!
We have taken photographs of black holes swallowing other stars, but these pictures have all been taken from a very safe distance.

No, no one has done this. If they did, the camera, and any signal from it would be lost forever once it passed a certain point (I think they call it the event horizon, but I may have got this from a film) beyond which nothing, not even light can escape. Some interesting things would probably happen on the way in though – I am not sure what – hopefully the physicists will explain.

      Hi Tara –

No – no-one has even got close. Think our nearest black hole is the one at the centre of the galaxy but that is light years away and we have no way of getting there any time soon.

it’s not a mission I would volunteer for in any case…!
