I do lots of different things in my work, and you can find out about some of it in my profile (don’t forget to click “read more”) and on my blog.
I’m interested in how the brain works when we find our way around in the world. I use an MRI scanner to look at blood flow changes in different parts of the brain when we undertake different tasks. The active parts of the brain need more oxygen, so blood flow increases when they’re busy. By comparing the patterns of blood flow change as the person in the scanner does different tasks, we can begin to understand what different parts of the brain do.
