• Question: How long would it take to get from one side of universe to the other!? =D

      Hi lucasjacobs
      In order to answer this question we first have to know how big the universe is and this is where we hit a bit of a problem as we don’t really know if the universe is infinitely large, or even if ours is the only universe that exists.
      If we only talk about things that we have seen with our own eyes then visible universe extends from the earth to the furthest objects we have seen with the best telescopes. The light from the most distant galaxies has taken something like 13 billion years to get to us so if you could travel in a spaceship at the speed of light it would take you around 26 billion years to go from one side of the visible universe to the other.
