• Question: If you win the money do you think that having a scan your teacher day would be a good idea?

      Yes – that’s why I suggested it in my profile. When I was at school I found hands-on demonstrations the best way to learn about things, and I think to understand science properly you have to actually DO experiments, and ideally make new ones up, where no one knows what the answer is.Then you get the thrill of a real discovery. We do this a lot with our Masters students, but so far as I know, no-one has ever given secondary school pupils a chance to do a brain imaging experiment. Scanning the teacher will make it more interesting and memorable, and the teacher might enjoy it, too. But if they don’t want to do it, I’ll go in instead.
